REDMOND, Wash. (October 20, 2022) – Emerald Heights, a LifePlan Community with amenity-rich offerings in Redmond, Washington, is celebrating its 30th anniversary this October.
Since opening in 1992, Emerald Heights has cared for and housed thousands of aging adults, who have been drawn to its continuum of care, amenities and active lifestyle. The community has changed, adapted and grown in 30 years, but Emerald Heights leadership knows this is just the beginning of the journey.
“Emerald Heights is thrilled to be celebrating 30 years in Redmond and the success we have had as a community,” says Grant Linacre, Executive Director of Emerald Heights. “We are looking at this anniversary as an opportunity to share how we’ve continued to renew, refresh and expand.”
When Emerald Heights opened it welcomed 36 residents the first month, with that number growing steadily over the years. Today Emerald Heights has the capacity for more than 550 residents across independent living, assisted living and memory care units. As more people are looking to retire in a premier senior living community, Emerald Heights is embarking on several expansion projects.
In September 2022, Emerald Heights broke ground on its 42-unit Courtyard apartment building for independent living residents. The design of the Courtyard apartment building was led by Dean Kelly of the architecture firm Rice Fergus Miller, who worked on Emerald Heights’ expansions in 2014. The same architecture firm has designed a 54-unit expansion of Emerald Heights’ assisted living residences with construction projected to begin in late 2023.
Since the beginning, Emerald Heights made it a mission to adapt or upgrade to the latest care methods, technologies and services for their residents. The property also has evolved its onsite amenities including the fitness center, hair salon, restaurants, pools, walking trials, and more to maintain, enhance or add the aspects that make Emerald Heights a leading place to live. Emerald Heights has even made a commitment to sustainable living through its waste prevention programs, low-consumption plumbing and energy-efficient lighting.
“Emerald Heights has accomplished a lot in 30 short years,” adds Lisa Hardy, President and CEO of Emerald Communities. “We know there is more to come over the next 30 years. I’m excited to see what that evolution looks like while continuing to focus first on the care, needs and lifestyles of our residents. We are thankful to everyone who has made Emerald Heights an incredible community that thrives all these years later.”
